Swimming pool sessions – Please wear a helmet

Hey All,

You may/may not know that I have been appointed the role of the PPCA Safety Officer. This is a non-committee position.

Last year during the pool session’s we witnessed at least one head collision from a paddler hitting the side of the pool and several ‘coaches’ being hit on the head by the paddlers under instruction. I therefore reviewed the risk assessment for swimming pool sessions and, after with consultation with Brim, Ken, Clive and a few others the decision was taken that all people, in the water, involved in swimming pool sessions must wear a helmet when training is taking place.
