See the message, below, from Axe Vale Canoe Club. As always, posting here is not an endorsement, but some of you may be interested in following up.

The annual River Axe Race will be held on Sunday 5th March this year and is suitable for all paddlers of all ages to have a go (11-70). Organised by the Axe Vale Canoe Club, we typically have 100 boats on the river in about 12 classes depending on the type of boat being used (both kayak and canoe).
We would particularly like to encourage you all to have a go in whatever boat you feel like (from canoe to sea kayak to slalom kayak to Sit-on & SUP).
