    Hi all,

Just an early heads up that I am running a night paddle on Saturday 19 January.

When I say night paddle I really mean a paddle in the dark, because the plan at the moment is to launch into the Yealm Estuary at 17:00 and potter around the estuary. Off the water at approx 19:30.

When I say a paddle in the dark the moon is just 2 days short of being full, so I mean a paddle in the moonlight.

Open boats will be welcome on this trip.

I will post again on Friday to confirm arrangements but in the mean time an indication of numbers would be appreciated.

Heads up on a night paddle – instead of down on a pillow? As it happens I have a smart new head torch which I’m just itching to try out – how better than on a LED group. Should be less insect life at this time of year. So Karen and I are planning to be there. Might be a busy weekend, especially if it rains.

I’m keen so long as logistics can be sorted (including taking part in Merryl’s birthday paddle, which promises a cakey lunch…)

That sounds like fun. I would be interested in this. Maybe full of cake and slightly wet from the rec paddle.

The forecast for Saturday is dull and misty, which is fine for this trip.

We will launch from the pontoon adjacent to the River Yealm Harbour Office, postcode PL8 1BN, at 17:00, paddle to the head of the estuary before landing at Stoke Point for coffe, after which we will retrun to the pontoon. Off the water approx 19:30.

Eat your carrots and I will see you there.

Keta, you will be most welcome, hopefully see you this evening.

Karen, carrot cake very definitely qualifies; in fact it counts as one of my 5 a day. Yum yum.

As long as you’re happy with an open boat, Tracy and I will be there.
