Join us and Try Some Kayaking & Canoeing!

The Port of Plymouth Canoeing Association (PPCA) is a friendly club with the advantage of a fantastic location. The club provides training and a full range of activities from gentle paddles on the sea and estuaries to white-water kayaking on rivers.  Want to join a thriving and active canoe club? The Port of Plymouth Canoeing Association is the one for you.

Thinking of giving kayaking or canoeing a try? Whether you’re looking at exploring the Westcountry Coast in a sea kayak, an adrenaline rush down a white water river, taking a kayak out surfing the waves or just a gentle paddle on a sit on top or in an open canoe on one of the region's many estuaries, then right here is a good place to start.
From Easter throughout the summer until September we run various Intro courses and Taster sessions for new comers to Paddlesport. For our club members, we run evening training sessions to improve skills, providing training towards British Canoeing 2 and 3 Star awards in Canoe and Kayak alongside our weekly recreational paddles. Also our Friday evening Family paddle encourage the whole family out on the water mainly in Open Canoes but all paddlesport craft are welcome. Every Saturday throughout the year we have organised recreational paddles, the first Saturday in the month is a dedicated Sea Kayak paddle whereas all the others are open to all types of kayak, General Purpose or Sit On Top.
During winter months, the darker nights might stop the evening training but the club is still almost as active. Along side our regular Saturday activities, winter is when the adrenalin junkies get their fill putting all those skills learnt in to practice on white water on Devon and Cornwall’s local rivers. We organise trips every weekend (when theres enough water!) on local rivers including the Dart, Tamar, Tavy and Walkham.

For more information on this years courses or joining the club follow the Join tab on the menu bar at the top or click here.

Check out our calendar tab to see what activities are planned over the coming weeks.
