The pool sessions for Winter 2026/27 are being run again at the Ivybridge pool, on Tuesday evenings.
Please don’t ‘block book’ more than 2 sessions at a time as this can prevent other members booking and any changes to your future availability causes re-work and will not be refunded.
If you do need to cancel from a session please do this asap via Mark or Nigel as they hold the stand-by list of members hoping to share the session.
Under 16s must wear helmets and all other participants are strongly advised to wear them.
Rather than running under-utilised dedicated sea kayaks sessions, this season we will trial allowing sea kayaks into any session. However in order to allow the maximum number of kayaks safely into the pool, we need to monitor and manage the mix of GP kayaks (<3m) and sea kayaks. Therefore if you wish to bring a sea kayak to any session ( which nominally takes up the space of 2 GP kayaks ) you must book and pay for 2 slots for that session by setting the quantity field ( beside the “Add to Basket” button ) to 2. Your sea kayak session may then be shared, if you so wish, between you and a ‘buddy’ as in previous years. All kayaks ( club or personal ) must be thoroughly cleaned inside and out before being taken into the pool. Contaminating the water with sand or any other debris could mean that we would lose access to this pool.
A range of 9 club GP boats are already stored at the pool for member’s use. If an alternative kayak is required, members must make their own cleaning, collection and transport arrangements from the club shed via our Equipment Officer.
Access for other boats is at the back of the pool, via the path that runs alongside the river.
