The pool sessions for Winter 2025/26 are being run again at the Ivybridge pool, on Tuesday evenings.
Please don’t book more than 2 sessions ahead as any changes to your availability causes re-work and will not be refunded.
If you do need to cancel from a session please do this asap via Mark or Nigel as they hold the stand-by list of members hoping to share the session.
In order to allow the maximum number of kayaks ( 10 ) into each standard session their length needs to be less than 3m.
For the sessions specifically allocated for sea kayaks, although 10 bookings are available, for the sake of safety there should only be 5 boats in the pool at one time. You will therefore need to ‘buddy’ with another paddler during these sessions, using 45 mins each. Alternatively if you wish to have 90 mins to yourself ( that’s a long time ! ) you will need to set the ‘quantity’ field to 2 for the same session.
Under 16s must wear helmets and all other participants are strongly advised to wear them.
All kayaks ( club or personal ) must be thoroughly cleaned inside and out before being taken into the pool. Contaminating the water with sand or any other debris could mean that we would lose access to this pool.
Some club GP boats are already available at the pool for members to use, otherwise members must make their own collection and transport arrangements from the club shed via our Equipment Officer and the coaching team.
Access for the boats is at the back of the pool, via the path that runs alongside the river.
