Hi Ken. Thanks for letting us know. If there’s more water coming, looking at the videos on Facebook, the Loop is going to be crazy. There’s a tree across New Bridge and all arches full according to ‘kayaking on the River Dart’. I will give the peer paddle a miss. Unfortunately family commitments next weekend and I think the next. :((

Well, sometimes I just don’t know what to do for the best. This is one of those occasions.

The heavy rain forecast for last night didn’t come but 2 of the 3 weather sites I use are still indicating that there will be rain this morning. The 3rd site says it’s about to dry up.

The Austins Bridge gauge shows a level of 0.79 at 05:00 and dropping, but if we believe the forecasts that may go up again, possibly fairly quickly.

At present the rivers Tavy & Walkham are too low to consider.

So I think our best bet is a trip on the Loop. We’ll meet at the Co-op car park at the Ridgeway in Plympton ready to leave at 09:00. If you are going direct to the river be at Holne lay-by at 09:30.

If you are going direct can you let me know by text please? If no-one shows up at Plympton and I haven’t had a text I will go home.

With the river level as it is this will be an intermediate club trip.

Someone left a Morrisons flask behind today where the boats were piled up. I have it. Any ideas whose it is?
