ParticipantWEMBURY Sat Rec Paddle 21st March
This Saturday is the spring equinox and a low tide of -0.1 (below chart datum) at the Yealm entrance.
It would be a shame not to visit the Yealm sandbar on such a low tide. So the plan is to meet at Wembury beach car park ready to paddle for 10:30 ish. The NT car park warden may be in attendance and he will ask you for a fee to park (ยฃ4-50 I believe). I would suggest car sharing with a paddler who is a NT member if possible.
Meet at Mount Batten at 09:15 if you want any club equipment. I wont be hanging around for long so please be on time.
The weather is set to be a bit of a NE breeze and a little swell and surf. The plan will be to head over to the Yealm mouth and follow the coast for a bit then onto the sandbar and lunch at Cellers beach or on the sandbar.
Please post if you are thinking of coming along. Bring all of your safety equipment, tow lines, VHF etc and a helmet if you want to get in close and rock hop or surf.

ParticipantHi Terry,
I’ll be there, hopefully to see some good marine spots on the exposed rocks (and to keep Bob off them, though I may well be the entertainment if the surf is up!).
Will we be playing cricket?

Mike I could pick you up and bring home if you like. I’m going up Cott Hill from plympton. If you fancied it we could get there a little earlier for a quick surf. Up to you. Let me know on 07515108557.March 20, 2015 at 5:24 pm #5433Anonymous

ParticipantThanks everyone (16 paddlers) for a great paddle. Its always a nice to see the sandbar on a really low tide. Some of my favourite rock hopping is the stretch from the Yealm back to Wembury beach.
An interesting place to park your boat Bob and a great bit of video footage. Well done to the parking attendants (Banjo and Andy) that helped re-launch the Beaver!
Also thanks to all the bakers, a 3 cake paddle as well, what more could you want.
