From Facebook: I am pleased to be listed to be running 4 consecutive weeks of training on Tuesday evenings starting next week. The original plan was to practice sea kayak rescue skills. I will stick with that plan and there are a host of skills that we could introduce or improve upon. The most important are deep water rescues and self rescues i.e. putting others or getting yourself back in your boat. However we can work on other rescues, balance skills, swapping kayaks, working as a team and so on. I am happy to take suggestions. I have not checked the weather as yet and will post again on Monday. However in the meantime it would be nice to know if you would like to take part and what is important to you. Please excuse typos – am not very good with phone and this has taken 30 minutes to write 😂
Thanks all for questions. We will be on the water at 18:00 in sea kayaks please – club boats are available but leave enough time to sort one out for yourself if required. This is not a course over 4 weeks – you can dip in and out (😆) as required but I would like to progress beyond just the basics if you are able to attend several. I have mentioned Deep Water Rescue and Self Rescues as the starting points. Please bring your usual safety kit. You will be spending some time IN the water so bear that in mind and dress appropriately. We plan to have fun. See you 2mo, Adam
