Tuesday Evening Group One (6.00-8.00pm) Starting 6th April

    Hi everyone.
I have the honour of leading the first Tuesday evening session post lockdown!!
Please register your planned attendance in this forum.
I already have registered Julie Brookshaw, Carol Fisher & Sarah Carlson.
The numbers are limited in my group to 6 (including me!), so that leaves only 2 spaces remaining in my group as of Saturday 11:50am.

Quote from recent PPCA email.. If numbers exceed the 6 we will do our best to find another willing coach….

Please include me in your Tuesday group Doug. If the magic 6 is exceeded I would be happy to do a peer paddle with any left overs.

    Hi paddlers.
We are not limited to 6 as previously stated. I have summarised the guidelines and ask you to read these.

Structured and organised outdoor activity can be delivered by Coaches, Leaders, Clubs and Delivery Partners – for an unlimited number of participants, provided that appropriate steps are taken to make it Covid secure.

Organised and structured activity must be formally organised by a qualified personal instructor or coach, NGB, club, company or charity and follow British Canoeing guidance.

Participants should adhere to social distancing when not actively participating (e.g. before paddling and after paddling). Social interaction before and after paddling should only take place outdoors, and in separate and distinct groups consisting of up to 6 people or two households.

Any paddling activity which requires participants to be in frequent close proximity to each other should be adapted to reduce the level of contact so far as reasonably possible and take steps to minimise risk.

You should shower and change at home where possible.

You do not have to register for this session, but it helps me if you can let me know.

Please note that the sea is cold at this time of year, even on a sunny day and it gets quite chilly in the evening. So dress up warm! Also please plan to bring a survival bag on all your paddling trips.

    Hi all,
As the numbers are small and Kevin is keen to come and coach, I have passed him this evening session.
    Have an enjoyable evening.
    Doug 🙂

Strong NNW wind. Very cold! Wind chill takes us down to 0C! Not suitable for planned session. Mire like Arctic!!
    Cancelled.

Good call Doug. I had already decided that my winter woolies were not up to the job.
