ParticipantThis Sunday’s whitewater trip is to be led by myself & Louis. The trip is open to all beginner & intermediate river paddlers. We plan to go on the Tamar from Latchley to Gunnislake for an easy grade 2 run.
If you are planning to join us can I ask that you let me know please?
Either by posting on here or contacting me directly. If you are new to river paddling have a look at the “Whitewater anyone” thread on this forum. https://www.ppca-canoe-club.org.uk/forums/topic/whitewater-anyone-2/ and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
The plan is to meet at Woolwell at 07:45, just off the roundabout leading into Tesco’s, but towards Lidl in Towerfield Drive PL6 7FG. We can shuffle boats around as needed to leave at 08:00. I will confirm this plan nearer the time. If coming to Woolwell is not sensible/suitable for you, then please let me know and meet us at Gunnislake at around 8:30 (on Devon side of bridge over Tamar there is a track up-river past the water pumping station to a muddy parking area).
There is little/no rain forecast for the remainder of the week so I anticipate pleasant/low levels.
Given the current situation with a large number of Covid cases around and infection rates not falling, I request that you refrain from attendance if you have contact with anyone who tests positive (symptoms or not), or who has similar symptoms, whether you have been vaccinated or not.

ParticipantHi Doug
I’m planning to come. Kimberly is likely.
If it’s ok with you I’ll bring along some Univeristy guests.
8am for a tamar trip – sigh – but I’ll be at woolwell.

ParticipantThanks to Kevin, Kimberley & Gill for letting me know they are coming. Louis will not be with us.
I need to limit the number of cars at Latchley to 3 (2 preferably) as there is no space. This limits numbers to 10 or so. Currently we are 4.
Kevin, Can we hold off on invitations to guests in favour of club members for now, and see how many we get? Thanks.Doug 🙂
PS. It is getting colder ! Wrap up warm – make sure you have a warm coat whilst waiting for the shuttle.November 19, 2021 at 12:28 am #14704Cameron Smiley
ParticipantI’ll be coming along, look forward to seeing everyone there!

ParticipantI have been assured that my concerns over parking are unwarranted and that will be plenty of space for all on this trip. Apologies.
Please let me know if you plan to attend this trip.
Many thanks.
Doug 🙂
