    Sea Paddle Saturday 5th December

Well it goes something like this a bit like an old scratched record, why change what has become the norm. Wind SW 30mph gusting 50mph with heavy rain and big swells. Sound familiar 😈

I will continue to follow the weather and put a post on Friday evening to let the paddlers know if the club paddle is taking place.

Taking into account a number of weather forecasts and averaging out the figures it is looking like being SW winds steady at around 30mph gusting up to 40+mph with a large sea swell. The weather will not change much from now until tomorrow morning so I am taking the early decision to CANCEL the club paddle (5th week in a row, how depressing 😥 ).

Unfortunately the winds are in the wrong direction to even find a sheltered peer paddle anywhere. It has been a turbulant time recently and is unusual to have so many strong winds up in the Gale force coinciding with our Saturday paddles. We often do peer paddles with winds in excess of 20+mph with stronger gusts but being out on the water in gusts of 40mph is not on my to do list.

Fingers crossed for a decent weather window coming along very soon.

I walked up around Jennycliff this morning and the wind was true to form and extremely strong and constant. Very hard standing upright and talking. The white horses and breaking waves around the coast in the Sound were even larger than last weekend.

The Breakwater looked impressive with the swell constantly breaking over it. At least the Jennycliff cafe does a nice cooked breakfast and tea 😀

Roll on some decent weather SOON.

    Terry
