Sea kayak trip, Sun 20 June.

Hi all,

I’m down to run the sea kayak trip on Sunday20 June.

After a week of very pleasant weather things are looking a bit breezy and damp for Sunday, in fact they are looking positively torrential overnight from Saturday into Sunday so let’s hope the forecasters have got the timing right. This is probably not a day for sunbathing.

We need an away day so we will launch from Porthpean near St Austell. The postcode for the Porthpean car park is PL26 6AU. I haven’t been able to find out what the parking charges are but this car park won’t be free!

Ready to launch at 10:30 please, remembering that it is a bit of a carry from the car park to the beach. Trolly’s etc will be useful.

My plan is to paddle around Black Head and on around the coast until we decide that it’s lunch time. We will return by the same route. Rock hopping opportunities abound for those with suitable headwear.

Club boats are available for this trip. To book a club boat please contact equipment officer Pete Anderson via equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or 07958 694434. You will need to pick this up from Mount Batten on Saturday.

I will post again on Saturday to confirm details/advise of any changes.

Hi all,

Weather’s looking a bit damp and drizzly but we should be OK to go ahead with this trip.

Intrepid paddlers so far are:
Me,
Joy,
Lisa,
Big Jane.

So, one chap and 3 ladies, it must be my natural charm and charisma.
