ParticipantHi all,
I’m down to lead the sea kayak trip this Saturday, 3 September. I’m reliably informed that meteorological autumn is here and looking at the forecast I can believe that it’s not just the meteorological autumn that’s upon us. The BBC forecast is showing a southerly wind at the upper end of force 4, maybe force 5 later. It also shows somewhere in the region of 60% chance of rain. I’m going to look again on Friday before making any decisions but if the forecast is right, we may well not bother. Whatever the decision I don’t think this will be a trip for people without a reasonable amount of sea kayak experience/expertise.
Assuming we do go ahead we will follow a tried and tested pattern on meeting at Mount Batten, ready to go at 10:00, complete with lunch, safety equipment and broad happy smiles.
Club boats are available for this trip. To book a club boat please contact equipment officer Pete Anderson via equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or 07958 694434.
I will post again on Friday.

Steven RobertsParticipantI was planning to join but it doesn’t sound like right conditions for my first sea kayak trip.

ParticipantHi all,
Well, I’ve looked at 4 different weather websites and they all agree that we are in for a
force 4 southerly wind tomorrow. 4 weather websites all telling the same story, how unusual.I am quite happy to go to Mount Batten in the morning and to look out over the Sound and probably do something, but I won’t decide what until the morning.
It would be nice to know who is coming.
