ParticipantI am down to run the Sea Kayak trip on Saturday 4th October.
I am thinking of doing an away trip, therefore NOT paddling from MB.
I will try to put a few options of trips down soon. Looks like the wind may be up a bit for the weekend.
If you think you will be paddling on Saturday and require a club Sea Kayak, please let me know asap. There are a couple of spaces in the members shed where club sea kayaks can be stored for the moment. If I know what sea kayaks are lightly to be required, they can be moved into the members shed on Tuesday; ready for Saturday.

ParticipantRoss; If you are down for the last club training session tonight come and talk tome about Saturday. I may be able to help you out.
Anthony, Had you something specific in mind? My Cornish thought was Looe.

ParticipantThanks for the suggestion Anthony. Agreed that would be a great trip, but Clive and I are on a bit of a tight schedule and the extra time of a shuttle may cut things a little fine.
I am proposing we meet at West Looe, Hannafore Point, Marine Drive GR 255 523. This is free on street parking near to the coastguard station. We will do a circular trip.
Please be ready to be on the water for 10.30am. If you need to get into the club shed please let me know before 9pm on Friday or else I will meet you all at Looe.
I would say those that need to collect your boats from MB, that you leave by 9am.
The forecast is 14 degrees C, winds NW 19mph.
Don’t forget a packed lunch and drink. Plus your usual tow ropes etc.

InactiveSounds good to me. I’m hoping (planning!) to be there. Coming from half an hour east of Plymouth so could stop on the way for a car-share if anyone interested.
Looe-Lerryn another time!

InactiveThanks for leading a refreshing and exhilarating trip in prefect summer conditions, Joy. My GPS (aka OS map and hand-held milometer/kilometermeter) tells me we did around 18km, the way out a good stretch against wind and tide, the way back a doddle. Great company and just the right sized swell for some excellent rock-hopping.

If Clive suggests a particular beach for lunch, there is an outside chance that it might not in fact exist! We enjoyed looking for it though.
Ha, I blame the navigator myself.

If you had paddled to the back of the cove where you turned around and gone to the right (east) you would have found the beach. It is well hidden and I don’t know how much is left exposed at high tide, it may have been covered at the time you arrived on Saturday.
As I am Mr Perfect and couldn’t possibly be wrong I still blame the navigator.

ParticipantI think we will just have to go again and have another look. I think I did go a little further than you Ross and there was a gully, but it was full of boulders, no sandy beach. It may well have been around the next little point!
Or perhaps a rock fall or just covered at that state of tide.
Your potential put in #2 is where we have had our mid summer camps before.Love the images you have put up. Did your GPS match Bobs 18Km?
