ParticipantHi all
I have the pleasure of running the sea kayak trip on Saturday 2 April, so all you salty people that want to play in big boys boats can fill your boots by being ready to get on the water at Mount Batten at 10:00hrs.
The weather forecast is showing force 4 SE wind and temperatures just about reaching double figures, (assuming you use the centigrade scale, it will be about 50 if you are a Fahrenheit dinosaur). So, the calendar may say spring but the forecast isn’t quite there yet, be prepared.
Thoughts at the moment are to hug the coast to Penlee Point, then back via the Breakwater and Cable Beach, but that is very much a tentative plan and will quite possibly change.
To book a club sea kayak please contact the club equipment officer, Pete Anderson. Either e-mail to equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or via Pete’s mobile 07958 694434.
See you there,
Clive A.

KeymasterLooking forward to it Clive. Karen and I will be there with boots filled (?)
As a small point of order for all of you centigrade “dinosaurs” out there (and some of you may remember this 😮 ) by International convention the degree Centigrade was replaced by Celsius in 1948, named after the Swedish astronomer of the same name. And if you don’t think that sounds very warm, it sounds much better in degrees Kelvin – a balmy 283. 😆

ParticipantHi all
Well, the forecast for tomorrow (Saturday) is still a bit breezy and not particularly warm, but at least it’s supposed to stay dry.
I will decide exactly where to go once I have looked at the sea tomorrow morning but the Penlee Point plan seems to be as good as any. Lunch may be a bit later than normal so you may want to have some nibbles in your b/a.
Adam, any more smarty-pants remarks from you and you may well find that your boots are filled with concrete.

ParticipantHi Clive
Sorry to discover that I shall miss your paddle.
Shall be paddling in the depths of Cornwall tomorrow. Meeting other paddlers in Penzance though not sure where they shall paddle. There are all whole lot of options this far down in Cornwall.Hope you manage to stay upright and afloat with all your concrete ballast!
Bye for now,

ParticipantWell, that was an interesting day out. Thanks to those that joined me on my little trip to Cawsand, I hope that you recover from your character building beating shortly.
Thanks also to Terry for leading a far more genteel trip to St John’s Lake.
Jane, I hope Cornwall treats you well.
A tired but happy Clive A.
