By way of a change here is a little quiz about Saturday’s paddle. For those of you that are not fond of quizzes I have put a more conventional note at the end of this post.
Q1. What is happening on Saturday 4 March?
Q2. Where will we meet?
Q3. What time will we meet?
Q4. What do I need to bring? (Apart from boat, spray deck, buoyancy aid, helmet and paddle.)
Q5. What else do I need to bring?
Q6. What atmospheric consideration do I need to take into account? (2 answers.)
Q7. What is available?
Q8. What are you unlikely to need?
Q9. What have I got too much of?A1. Clive is running a sea kayak trip.
A2. We will meet at Mount Batten.
A3. We will be ready to be on the water at 10:00.
A4. Some lunch.
A5. Any safety gear that you may have.
A6 Look and the weather forecast and
a) Make sure that your skills match the predicted weather conditions.
b) Look at the predicted temperature and dress accordingly.
A7. Club boats are available for this trip. To book a club boat please contact equipment officer Pete Anderson via equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or 07958 694434.
A8. You are unlikely to need sun cream.
A9. You may be thinking that I have too much time on my hands. If you are thinking that I have too much time on my hands than bear in mind that you are reading this.Now for a more conventional announcement.
Sea kayak trip, Saturday 4 March.
Meet at Mount Batten ready to be on the water at 10:00. Bring lunch and any safety equipment that you may have.
Check the forecast and make sure that your skills will meet the conditions. Also, its going to be cold, wrap up warm.
