AnonymousInactiveI’m down to run the club sea kayak paddle on Saturday. At the moment, though, the forecasts are predicting winds at high force 4, gusting high force 6. Sadly, if it doesn’t drop, the club paddle will be cancelled.
If it does drop enough, the plan is to go from Mount Batten to Penlee Point or Rame Head and return, on the water at 10.00 as usual. Sun is forecast!
If it doesn’t drop, there may be a chance of a peer paddle for anyone who wants to battle the elements (a few likely candidates come to mind).
Cross all your fingers and toes, and watch this space.

Adam CoulsonKeymasterAnother likely candidate as WWSR course cancelled (again). At least the sea should be warmer and hopefully will spend less time in it! Karen too.

AnonymousInactiveBased on current forecast, the club paddle is ON. If the wind gets stronger overnight, I’ll make a final call at MB in the morning. If it does get stronger we may decide it’s a peer paddle.
Various websites are showing NNW force 4 gusting 5 (a couple of site say 6). Other aspects are looking good — sunshine, low swell, a bit warmer than today. There will be some wind waves, and we will probably be crossing wind against tide on the return leg.
It’s a trip for paddlers who like a challenge. Route, subject to judgement in the morning, is probably towards Cawsands, maybe on to Penlee, maybe Rame, all depending on conditions, level of effort needed, and capabilities. On the water at 10.00. Bring the usual safety kit, food, hot drink — and warm clothes!
Please post here or the FB page if you intend coming. Any questions, call me on 07939261210. If you need a club boat, contact Pete Anderson at equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk, 07958 694434.
