ParticipantHi all,
Well, how exciting is this? They are forecasting summer this weekend, don’t miss it!
We will launch from South Milton Sands at 10:00. It’s a bit of a carry from the car park to the sea and some of this is sand, so wheels will be of limited use. South Milton is between Thurlestone and Salcombe.
The plan is to paddle around Bolt Tail and Bolt Head and to visit the many sea caves that abound in this area. Some of the caves are huge. A head torch will prove useful.
The car park is National Trust owned so members are free. The rest of us will need to pay £6. According to the National Trust website the postcode for South Milton Sands is TQ7 3JY.
Club boats are available for this trip. To book a club boat please contact equipment officer Pete Anderson via equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or 07958 694434. You will need to collect your boat on Friday evening. (Joy is running the Friday paddle this week.)
Lisa is intending to come along and informs me that she can take one other. If you wish to liaise with Lisa let me know and I will put you in touch.
I will post again on Saturday just to confirm details.
See you on Sunday,
Clive A.

ParticipantHi all,
Forecast looking good, this trip will go ahead as advertised.
I’m in the very rare situation whereby I can advise you that it’s going to be hot, bring sun protection and plenty of fluids.
If you intend playing among the rocks and exploring the caves then a helmet is also a required accessory.
Bruce, you are most welcome.
Both Debbie and Stephen have raised concerns about the car park getting full. Maybe arrive early and get ready in a leisurely fashion. That way you will get be in the car park longer thus getting better value for money. It goes without saying that lift sharing would be both economically and environmentally advantageous.
See you on Sunday,
Clive A.

ParticipantMorning,
I don’t think my little Citygo can manage another kayak on top but I’m happy to pay for petrol/parking etc if anyone wants to give me and the boat a lift. Alternatively, I’m happy to make my own way there early.
Thanks.
Look forward to seeing you all there tomorrow.

ParticipantHi Brim,
Which route are you taking Brim? I could meet you at Coypool Park and Ride car park or at the Elburton Pub roundabout, A379.
If ok, please message me to arrange pick up time. Thanks.
Debbie
