    Hi all,

Those of you that look at the calendar will know that Joy is down to run the rec paddle this Saturday, 8 October. Well, Joy has found better things to do and has very kindly allowed me to run this trip instead.

At time of writing the weather looks good and with a predicted 1.0m low tide at 11:43 there will be plenty of beaches to choose from for lunch. I’m looking forward to it already.

All the usual, please ready to be on the water at Mount Batten at 10:00 with lunch and any safety equipment that you may have and are capable of using.

As the predicted wind speed is less than 10 MPH canoes, otherwise known as open boats, are welcome on this trip on the understanding that I hold no canoeing qualification and can only provide safety cover. Canoeists will need to be of a suitable skill level.

At lunchtime I will give Clive’s instant guide to transits for the benefit of anyone that would like to listen.

I will be in my small boat but feel free to use any paddle craft that you wish including sea kayak, canoe and sit-on-top.

    See you all on Saturday.
