KeymasterSaturday Rec Paddle 27th Jan
Well folks,
I am back on salty water this week to run the rec paddle. Looking at the tides, I was thinking of something a bit different perhaps (depending on the feedback).
I see Low tide will be around 07:05 and neaps at Wembury, high tide 13:27. I was thinking maybe a river trip at Newton Ferrers. We could launch from the jetty and paddle up river with the tide. Stop somewhere for lunch (we know a good spot), and travel back roughly around the turn of the tide. I know some people use club boats so will need to visit MB to collect and maybe leave some cars. I think being at MB for around 08:45 (if required), leaving there by 09:00. Get to Newton Ferrers for 09:30, on the water at 10:00 (sounds a good plan in theory ๐ ).Could people post on here to see the interest. If there’s not much, we will stay at MB at the usual time and be on the water for 10:00.
Please bring the usual paddling/safety kit and food/drink for whatever we do. I will confirm later in the week after seeing the interest.
cheers

InactiveI am planning on coming this Saturday Andy. Finally a Saturday I can manage. Happy to do either although I’ve only been on this river once and not sure if I’ve been this far up so would be good to see something new.

KeymasterWell NF is appearing popular. If anyone needs to go to MB to use club kit or need transport please post as we’ll need to arrange some lift sharing.

InactiveAs it looks like we are meeting at Newton Ferrer’s can you be a bit more specific as to parking (with my van) and exactly where we are meeting. I can’t remember this area although my ‘better’ half informs me I have been before!!

KeymasterFor anyone’s benefit who needs to know where we will meet, it’s on Yealm rd. There are steps by the Harbour office leading to the jetty. Parking can be an issue and you may need to offload your boat and drive back up the hill a bit to park and change. I am still waiting to hear if I need to go to MB to open up and pick up equipment for anyone. If anyone else is going there to pick up their boat from the club shed, would they have room to double up with anyone to help with car spaces at NF? I am still thinking meeting at MB for 08:45 and NF for 09:30, to get on the water for 10:00.
cheers
