ParticipantSaturday Rec Paddle 8th Oct (Wembury beach)
I am posting early as the rec paddle this coming Saturday will probably be an away trip from Wembury beach.
I will confirm and post details about timings, club equipment etc once the weather has firmed up for the weekend (see update post below for details).
Please post if you are thinking of coming along. All members welcome. This is a general purpose kayak trip but sea boats are welcome as usual.
Hopefully we can head down the coast towards Stoke beach and explore the many coves and rock formations along the way. Helmets will be required for any rock hopping.See you all on Saturday.

ParticipantWell the weather has firmed up nicely and it should be light NE winds and a decreasing small swell and surf with the chance of some sunshine.
We will meet at the Wembury beach car park (fee payable), but not sure if the NT car park wardens will be out to collect your fee. Or share a car with a NT club member.
Ready to paddle and on the water for 10:00, just before high tide so not far to carry boats. If you require any club equipment I will be at Mount Batten just before 09:00 for a very short time so please arrive promptly!
This rec paddle is open to all, please remember to bring along a helmet if you want to do any rock hopping. With a falling tide it should be great for getting in close and exploring all those coves and gullies.
Please bring along any safety equipment you may own, tow lines, first aid, survival bag, vhf radio, spare clothing etc.
Dont forget some lunch and a hot drink and warm clothing.

ParticipantExcellent paddle Terry. The fact that you arranged for very little wind and dolphins within reach was fantastic. Certainly a paddle to remember. Will have to read your latest book now.

ParticipantA wonderful day paddling from Wembury with a lovely bunch of club paddlers. It will definitely be remembered as a highlight of my paddling. Dolphins close up in the wild are just magnificent.
Just designing some dolphin bookmarks to go with the Wembury books ๐
