    Hi All

Summer is leaving us all for a few days!

Saturdays forecast is for 26mph (Force 6) WSW winds with gusts of up to 49mph (or 36mph depending on which forecast you look at). To make things even better, its low tide at lunch time too. Oh, its also likely to be wet.

So all in all, its going to be a lovely day (ha ha)

If you have been putting off those jobs at home because the weather has been so good; then Saturday may be the day for you to get those jobs done.

Clive fancies a paddle for a couple of hours, so we will both be at MB to see if there are any other idiots up for getting wet. (I may even watch him from the MB breakwater or ISO Bar!)

10 am on the water if you have the urge.

    Well boys and girls,

Joy has found something better to do tomorrow. Washing her hair, doing her nails, making herself beautiful, (or rather making herself even more beautiful) and basically anything that involves staying away from Mount Batten.

On the other hand I quite relish the thought of a bit of a beasting, so I’m keen get out on the water for a couple of hours. If you think this is for you then on the water at 10:00, back by lunch time.

Well I’ve had my hair done tonight, and the nails can wait so I’m up for it, as long at my hair won’t get messed up, that is. Boat short or boat long best for the conditions?

Dave and I hope to be there Clive. Interesting question Adam which I am in no way qualified to answer. What do you feel most comfortable in?
A sea boat requires less effort to paddle but is most likely affected by the wind more due to the length, but you do have a skeg. Also it will depend if you’re going straight into the wind or across it. I will be taking my short boat just because I feel more in control of it in these conditions. A few months ago when paddling with Big Jane in her seaboat she could make headway against the wind and tide where the rest of us in small boats were static. Jane is a very powerful paddler. Another time paddling from Drakes Island to MB Myself and Dave were ferry gliding in small boats whilst Jane had to cope with some severe lee cocking. So my answer is paddle whata you paddle best in. As I said at the start this is only my opinion and may well be wrong i.e your choice mate. 😆

Well, a most enjoyable couple of hours being bounced around. Thank you all for your company and well done to Adam for beating off the attentions of the Mount Batten Squid, very impressive.

    Hi Clive
Thanks for an exciting trip. What a rollercoaster.
I thought Adam’s hair looked a mess. Sorry Adam but it was.
    Thanks Bob
