Dear all
Our services have been requested for swim safety cover for an iron man event to be held at Budleigh Salterton on Sunday 19 August. The organisers will cover travel costs plus £60 per kayaker!
There will be around 30-35 swimmers, distance approx 2.4 miles, course to be decided (sea swim, either a there-and-back course or number of circuits around a course). They are looking for around six kayaks.
Start time probably 7am — a horribly early start from the Plymouth area!
We have three volunteers so far (thanks!), but overall we haven’t had much luck so far in club members providing cover for local swim events, though some did go to the Scilly event in May I think, and more will go to the September one. Could this be the time to show support for a (more or less) local one?
