ParticipantHi all,
Here’s an early heads up that I am down to run the river trip this Sunday, 8 Feb.
It’s early yet but there is enough rain in the forecast to assume that this trip will go ahead.
So, what to do?
It would be useful to have some input from yourselves as to what we do. Do you want:
a) An intermediate trip.
b) A beginners trip.
c) Both.If there is demand for both I will try to find another coach to help so that we can run two trips.
We could have an away day and play on the river Barle. This is a grade 2 river on the Devon / Somerset border. Google maps tell me that it’s a 75-mile drive and just over 90 minutes each way. We would take lunch. It’s always nice to play on a new river.
So, don’t sit there waiting for me to make a decision if you have a preference. The earlier I know what you want the easier it will be to organise. I’m looking forward to your responses.
I will see what response I have had and post again on Friday evening with a bit of a plan.
I know that you know this but I don’t do Facebook, so if you have read this on Facebook and decide to reply there, I will not see it. Can you reply either by posting on the club forum, or by text / WhatsApp to my mobile number please. This is particularly important this week because Joy is away and I won’t even get your messages second hand and maybe late. Thanks.

Andy KittleKeymasterI have commented on FB (like some others). I’m interested in a local trip (either), as I have some late afternoon plans.

ParticipantHi all,
There is very little enthusiasm for an away day so we will stay local.
My plan at the moment is to run an intermediate, hopefully on the Tavy from Tavistock to Denham Bridge if levels permit. If not, the dear old Loop will have to suffice.
We’ll meet at Plympton in the normal place ready to leave at 08:30. I will post details of where to meet for those that wish to go directly to the river tomorrow evening, once I have made a proper plan.

Paul HewsonKeymasterAll sounded wonderful, unfortunately I’ve messed up my diary and am tied up on Sunday (I thought I’d agreed to do something on the Saturday, but it was Sunday). Ho hum, will test that new drysuit zip soon.
