    Hi all,

I’m running the river trip this Sunday, 4 March. You lucky people you.

To state the obvious it’s snowed. There is more snow forecast for today, (Thursday), and tomorrow morning, then the temperature is set to rise to a tropical 5 degrees and it’s going to rain. The rain is forecast to continue through Saturday. With a combination of rain and melting snow I am expecting the rivers to rise and that we will be able to have an interesting if chilly trip on Sunday.

The trouble is that at present we really don’t know what the levels are likely to be so I’m not going to even pretend to make a plan until Saturday evening, and even then I may delay any final decision until Sunday morning. We will meet somewhere ready to leave at 09:00 and meet at the river at 09:30. I will post again on Saturday evening with my latest incarnation of a plan.

In the mean time an idea of numbers would be appreciated.

    Vague isn’t it?

It depends! Could always go kayatobogganing instead?

Hmm, there’s less rain forecast now. Watch this space.

Right, no need to be vague any more. At time of writing there has been over 15mm of rain at Princetown and the Austin’s Bridge gauge is reading 0.69 and rising. We will run the Loop tomorrow.

Meet at Plympton Co-op ready to leave at 09:00 or 09:30 at Holne lay by.

    Just one more thing. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Cancel the toboggoning then. Paddling in melt water – a first for us, unless levels are too high.
