    Hi all,

I’m down to run the river trip this Sunday, 24 October. The forecast is for unsettled weather so I am expecting to paddle somewhere on the Dart. If that is the case we will meet at Plympton ready to leave at 08:30.

Which section of the Dart we paddle rather depends on who comes along. If you are intending to paddle on Sunday could you let me know please? Text is best.

I will see what’s happening and who’s coming and make a better plan on Saturday.

    Hi all,

Thanks (in alphabetical order) to Adam, Ash, Banjo, Julian, Steve and William for letting me know that you intend paddling with me tomorrow.

As predicted there has been a bit of rain over the last few days. The level at Austins Bridge was 1.13m at 18:00 today, which is a little on the high side but we should be OK for a trip on the Loop tomorrow.

I will check levels in the morning. If the Dart is too high I may change this to the Walkham, but the Walkham was too low today and I’m not really expecting that to change. I will post by 07:30 in the morning but whatever happens I won’t change the meeting place in Plympton.

If you haven’t let me know that you are going to paddle, feel free to come along but be advised that this is not a beginners trip. Wherever we end up paddling you will need to be confident about running the Lower Dart in order to join this trip.

So, meet at the car park adjacent to the Co-op in Plympton’s Ridgeway ready to leave at 08:30. Those of you that think that 08:30 is too early I have arranged a special treat for you. The clocks go back tonight so 08:30 is really 09:30. You can have a lie in and still be in time for a paddle. I’m good to you, I hope you appreciate it.

If you want to meet at the river that 08:50 at Holne lay by, but check here first that we are still going to run the Loop.

Steve (probably gleefully) points out that I have the date wrong at the head of this post. The trip will take place on 29 October not 24 as advertised.

To save any confusion we’ll run the Loop.

    See you all soon.
