ParticipantHi All,
I’m running the river trip this Sunday, 20 October.
The plan at the moment is to run a beginner’s trip on the Lower Dart. (Holne to Buckfast.) Hopefully the level will be “sensible” but it is a little difficult to predict. I will post again on Saturday to confirm details but all being well we will meet in the car park adjacent to the Co-op in the Ridgeway, Plympton. What 3words give this location as analogy.fears.mental River levels should be good so the river will be busy. We will meet in time to shift boats around and be ready to leave at 08:00.
We won’t be stopping for lunch but you may like to bring a flask and a snack.
If you are intending to come it would be nice if you could send me a text. I don’t have access to facebook and my facebook spy (Joy) is away so I won’t see / know about any posts you put on facebook.
Splish splash.

ParticipantHi All,
There are 2 versions of this but the outcome is the same whichever one you read.
1. The short version. The river level will probably be too high for a beginner’s trip tomorrow. I’m making this an intermediate trip but we will stick to the Lower Dart. You will need to have some moving water experience to attend this trip.
2. The long version. There is an environment Agency river gauge on the river Dart at Austins Bridge. (Buckfast) In order to run a beginner’s river trip the level needs to be under 1.00m. The level at 07:00 today was 1.55m and at 16:00 it was 0.99m. There is more rain forecast from 02:00hrs on Sunday becoming heavy from 04:00hrs. The river level will once again be over 1.00m. I am not willing to take responsibility for anyone with no moving water experience and I am going to call this an intermediate river trip. We will still run the Lower Dart.
In any event I reserve the right not to make a final decision until we get to the river tomorrow.

ParticipantHi All,
I had a covid and flu jab yesterday and as a consequence my arm doesn’t work properly. Sorry but I’m going to have to cancel this trip.
I have sent text to everyone that had let me know they were intending to come along. Anyone else may be a sitting in the car park feeling a bit lonely.
Sorry once again, let’s hope for better luck next week.
