    Hi all,

I have the pleasure of leading the river trip this Sunday, 16 November, but first let me share some good news.

We have to congratulate Jack Moore and Julian Mills on gaining their white-water leaders awards, a qualification that will enable Jack and Julian to lead river trips. These awards are not easily gained and Jack and Julian have certainly earned theirs. Well done to both of them.

So, on to Sunday’s trip. Julian and I are going to try to run two trips. The plan is to run a beginner’s trip on the Lower Dart and an intermediate trip on the Loop. This does rather depend on having sufficient numbers to run two trips safely, but attendances have been good so far this season.

We will all meet at the long-term car park adjacent to the Co-op in the Ridgeway, Plympton, ready to leave at 08:30. The two trips will go then their separate ways from there. We probably won’t meet again.

If you usually meet at the river, I will post details of where to meet on Saturday evening.

If you are intending to come along, can I ask that you let me know, please? Can you also indicate which trip you would prefer to attend.

I don’t do Facebook, so if you have read this on Facebook and decide to reply there, I will not see it. Can you reply either by posting on the club forum, or by text / WhatsApp to my mobile number please. Thanks.

    Hey Banjo,

It would be lovely to hear some jokes, do you know any?

I see that you have studiously omitted to mention whether you want to partake in the beginners, or the intermediate trip. Some sort of a clue would be appreciated.

    Well Boys and girls,

My attempt at running 2 trips on the same day has failed. No one has stepped forward to join the beginners’ trip so, as a result, tomorrow’s beginners’ trip is cancelled and we will all partake in an intermediate river trip on the Loop.

I’m going to slope my shoulders in my own inimitable fashion and allow Julian is going to run this trip. This will be Julian’s first trip as a white-water leader, be gentle with him. (Or not)

We will meet at the long-term car park adjacent to the Co-op in the Ridgeway, Plympton. what3words gives friend.rear.empire We will meet in time to swap boats around and be ready to leave at 08:30 please.
Those that live closer to the river we will meet in the lay-by adjacent to Holne Weir. What3words gives page.conveying.pocket Meet there at 08:50

It’s not too late to join the Loop trip but if you are intending to come along, can I ask that you let me know, please?
