River trip, Sunday 10 December.

Hi all,

Kevin was down to run the river trip this Sunday, 10 December, but he is unable to attend so I am I’m standing in. I’m also standing in for Phil next week and Bekky on 26 December so, from now on I am going to refer to myself as “Super-sub.”

Whatever you think of my super-sub status you will be relieved to know that I am not going to write this in a Welsh accent however, my grasp of gramma, punctuation and syntax remain, at best, tenuous. (I confess that I don’t really know what syntax is, any education would be gratefully received.)

Anyway, that’s quite enough nonsense. It’s been a wet week and there is more rain forecast for early Saturday morning. I am hopeful that the Walkham will be running at a suitable level. The plan at the moment is to meet at Towerfield Drive (Postcode of the adjacent Lidl store is PL6 7FG) Things are likely to be busy so can we meet ready to leave at 08:00 please? I know it’s early but most of us are so ugly that getting our beauty sleep is irrelevant.

I will post again tomorrow evening (Saturday) to confirm arrangements, in the mean time if you are intending to come along a text would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I may be there. There are a few factors preventing me from making a definite decision. It’s too early for me and work xmas get together tonight. If I find myself awake in time and feeling okay, I’ll see you in the morning.

Hi all,

Well, I’m very glad that I wasn’t running a club trip today, it all looked a bit exciting. However, tomorrow looks likely to be a far calmer affair so we will go ahead with the planned trip on the Walkham, meet at Towerfield Drive ready to leave at 08:00 please.

If you intend meeting at the river then be at Denham Bridge at 08:20 (ish). If you are meeting at the river can you please send me a text so that if plans change I can let you know.

I will check levels in the morning but whatever happens I won’t change the meeting time/place.
