ModeratorWell at the moment it is looking like it will be a good level on Sunday with about 7/8 hrs of heavy rain forecast for Saturday morning early afternoon. Unfortunately because of the timings this will not give us a clear idea as to what the level will be on Sunday morning but at this time the plan is we are going to do the Dart Loop. So if you are intending to come along be in the Plympton Car Park near to the Coop ready to leave at 0900 hrs . Would you also put a short note on this Topic to give us an idea as to how many we can cater for. I am so sorry for those that cannot make it but I really only want to know those who ARE coming along. Having said that have a nice day and maybe see you next time. π π
There is a possibility that we may have a couple of new paddlers coming along on Sunday so can I remind you that you will need all your usual kayaking kit for white Water paddling bearing in mind the water is cold this time of year, 41 degrees on Sunday, if you go swimming but most important of all you must have a helmet and buoyancy aid.
I will update this on Saturday by 1800 hrs when hopefully we will know then how much rain has fallen and what the levels are like at that time.
If anybody has any questions please ring me on 07790293952 but not when Eastenders is on!!!! π π π

ParticipantWell now boys and girls, while Ken running the crowded hurly burly of the Loop I am going to have a more gentle paddle down the much quieter Lower Dart with Joy. You are welcome to join us. My trip will be idea for those wanting a less stressful experience or for any of you that would describe yourselves as beginners. An idea of numbers would be appreciated.
As with Kenβs trip we will also meet at the Co-op car park in Plympton ready to leave at 09:00.
Open boats.
Club members who wish to come on this trip in open boats are welcome on the understanding that they have had some previous white water open boat experience and can provide their own equipment. I hold no open boat qualifications and as such can only provide safety cover.May I wish all our paddlers (and swimmers) a Happy New Year.

InactiveToo much choice…. I would like to paddle tomorrow. I’m just not sure which section!
January 13, 2018 at 6:26 pm #6942Ken Hamblin
ModeratorWell all that choice and still not very many takers. Strange old weather pattern for the last few days which has ended up with Plymouth getting plenty of rain and Princetown not very much at all. The result of this on the Dartmoor weather station is that so far there has been.8 mm of rain today which should raise the level slightly but even so it is a bit on the low side at the moment. The good thing out of all this is that there is plenty there for us to paddle on so see you folks in the morning. We are all meeting at Plympton Car Park and then going our separate ways depending on which section you decide to do.

InactiveThanks for a very enjoyable trip today, Clive, and to co-paddlers/players Joy, Stu and Mark. A fun and genteel re-entry to river paddling.
