ParticipantHi all,
Myself and Jane H are down to run the river trip this Remembrance Sunday, 13 November.
The river levels appear to be holding up but there is no rain in the forecast so will drop away between now and Sunday. I am expecting the Loop to be low but runnable, (is that a word?) so paddling the Loop will be my first choice for Sunday. With predicted low levels this trip should be suitable for all those that have paddled with the club in October and November. I will check tomorrow (Saturday) and post a final decision here in the evening.
We will meet at the car park adjacent to the Co-op in Plympton’s Ridgeway ready to leave at 08:00. Can I remind people that parking by the river is limited so we need to take as few cars as possible to the river. We should meet in time to swap boats etc. and still be ready to leave Plympton at 08:00. Some of you were a bit last minute last week and were put to shame by a bunch of bright eyed and very delightful students.
Those that live on the eastern side of the city may like to meet at the layby adjacent to Holne Weir at 08:30. If that is you, please see who else is going and try to car-share.
As its Remembrance Sunday I would like to have 2 minutes silence prior to getting on the water. Participation is, of course, voluntary.
I will post again tomorrow but, in the meantime, it would be nice to know who is coming. Posting here or contacting me direct would be good. I don’t do Facebook so any posts on there will not be seen by me.

ParticipantWell boys and girls,
The river levels are holding up surprisingly well so we will go ahead and run the Loop as previously indicated. Leaving Plympton at 08:00, meeting at Holne by 08:30.
I have just had my arms filled with a Covid booster and flu jab. I haven’t had any adverse reactions in the past but I will post again in the morning just to confirm that my arms haven’t fallen off during the night. I will post either way at around 07:00.
See you tomorrow, in the mean time don’t forget to let me know that you are coming.
To sum up, that’s me running the Loop on a Sunday. You need to be very nice to me.

KeymasterI haven’t paddled in fresh water for about a year now but wonder if I might be allowed to join in the fun tomorrow? Hope I can remember what to do and will probably have forgotten the way. Do you get WW Greenland Paddles?!

ParticipantHi Clive, I am keen to come but have no transport to the river, is it possible someone could be kind and pick me and my boat up from plymouth?

ParticipantThere’s still plenty of water and my arms are functioning within acceptable parameters. We seem to be a small group but I will see you soon.

KeymasterMany thanks to Clive and Jane for leading a most enjoyable trip down the Loop. We had the river to ourselves to play on in beautiful autumn colours and with excellent company. What better way to spend Sunday morning (not quite what I was thinking at 06:00 I admit)? Worth it though and can always nap later. Didn’t realise how much I was missing WW. Sorry no photos – camera flat.
