ParticipantI have just spent a less than jolly couple of hours paddling in the rain to the beach I hope to use for this camp, just to check that it is actually still a beach at high tide. Thankfully I can report that it is, so here is some more info for you.
I don’t want to make public where we will be leaving our cars overnight so I am going to be a bit circumspect here about exactly what we will be doing, but if you want to know the exact details please speak to me.
The route we travel to our campsite will depend very much on the forecast. If the forecast is good we will be paddling 13 mile each day, otherwise it will be 6 each day with the option of extending day 1 once we have established camp.
We will be camping on a beach with 5 star facilities. Let me list those 5 stars.
*1. There is no grass on the beach so we will be pegging our tents into sand. (There are plenty of rocks we can use to anchor our guy lines).
*2. There are no toilets / showers on site.
*3. There is no fresh water on site.
*4. There is no shop / cafe / bar on site.
*5. I am going to be there.
Sold it to you have I? If so can I ask that you send me an e-mail letting me know please? I will then send an e-mail all campers with the arrangements once I know the forecast on the Friday evening.
Club boats can be used for this camp, please book via equipment officer Pete Anderson 07958 694434 or equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk
You will need to provide all your own camping equipment.
Anything else? Please ask.
