Nominations for Club Committee members — your help needed!

To all our wonderful members:

As you probably know, members of the Club Committee must be voted into office at the AGM. Each candidate must be nominated first. The nominations can be made at the meeting, but it’s far, far better if they’re made in advance.

We’re lucky — seven existing committee members have agreed to be nominated again for next year:
Chair (Ken Hamblin)
Vice Chair (Mark Perry)
Secretary (Jackie Perry, switching from Publicity Officer)
Equipment Officer (Pete Anderson)
Introductory course coordinator (Jane Hitchings)
Welfare Officer (Bekky Stiasny, switching from Co-Intro Coordinator)
Membership Secretary (Adam Coulson)

Bear this in mind — there doesn’t have to be just one nomination for each position. To be democratic, all those posts are open for other nominations too. If you’d like have one of the roles, find someone to nominate you. If you’d like to nominate someone else, please do.

Now for the really important part. We must find club members to fill the following positions: Club Leader, Treasurer, Publicity Officer and Youth Development Officer.

A plea to all who read this: please seriously consider joining the committee in one of those roles. If you’d like to know more about any of them, please ask the person who holds it at the moment (Ian Brimacombe Club Leader, Tony Sicklemore Treasurer, and Jackie Perry Publicity Officer). Their contact details are on the ‘Contact Us’ tab on the club website. The Youth Development Officer post has been vacant, but if you’re interested let me know and I’ll put you in touch with a previous holder.

To misquote John Donne and Ernest Hemingway, ‘Ask not for Whom the Club Exists, it Exists for Thee’. Is it time for you to be a part of how it’s run?
