ParticipantHi all,
I would be very happy to run a New Years eve river trip, that’s Sat 31 December in case anyone is getting this confused with the Chinese New Year.
There’s plenty of rain in the forecast so I will make a proper plan on Friday, but it will involve meeting somewhere at 08:30.
If you are thinking of coming can you let me know please, ‘cos I don’t want to arrive at the car park and be lonely.

ParticipantHi all,
Well, it has rained. Did you notice?
Hopefully there will be enough water to paddle the Walkham tomorrow. Hopefully there won’t be too much water to paddle the Walkham tomorrow.
Here is my plan:
Meet at Towerfield Drive, Roborough, in time to leave at 08:30. For those that need such things the postcode of the adjacent Lidl is PL6 7FG, or you could type ///hidden under bill into what3words. (How 21st century is that?) Alternatively, Towerfield Road runs past the Lidl shop next to Tesco at Roborough. Take your pick. There is a large puddle (small lake) adjacent to the usual parking place at Denham Bridge. To save causing an obstruction we will leave as few cars at Denham Bridge as possible.
I will check levels again in the morning and post confirmation / amendment on the club forum before 07:30. That confirmation won’t appear on Facebook so please check the forum for final details. If the level drops off too much we will run the Loop instead.
See you tomorrow,
Clive A.

ParticipantHi all,
Looking at the graphs the levels of the Walkham and the loop are already on the limits of what I would be happy to lead and are rising, so I’m not going to go to either place. What I am happy to do is to go and have a look at the Plym at Cadover Bridge. The stretch of the river Plym from Ditsworthy to Cadover is a reasonably easy grade 3 but entails a walk in of approx. 1 mile. It’s an easy walk but it is windy. Obviously this is still dependant on the level but the Plym does need a lot of water to make it go. To save too much confusion we will still meet at Towerfield Drive at 08:30.
If you want to meet at Cadover please be there at 09:00 but can you text to let me know that you are coming please. Thanks.
