ParticipantHi all
I traditionally run an overnight sea kayak camp close to the mid summer solstice but my diary was a bit full this year so I am running a camp on 14 – 15 July instead.
The plan is to launch at Mount Batten (on the water at 10:30, give yourselves plenty of time to pack you boats and get changed) and paddle to our campsite at Ayrmer Cove, (between Bigbury and Mothecombe grid ref SX639455.) The distance is 14 miles each way without any exploring / rock hopping. This trip is obviously weather dependant.
Ayrmer Cove has no facilities, i.e. no water, no looe and no shop. You will need to cater for yourselves, carry everything you need in your boats and carry out all rubbish.
Ayrmer Cove is owned by the National Trust and we have permission to camp there this weekend. The National Trust isn’t making any charge for camping but I’m going to suggest a donation of £2 per person as a token of appreciation.
Club boats are available for this trip. To book a club boat please contact equipment officer Pete Anderson via equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or 07958 694434.
If you are going to come along to this trip please let me know.
How very exciting.

ParticipantHi campers
Catering arangements.
You will need to provide yourselves with 2 lunches plus an evening meal and breakfast. You will also need to carry all your liquid needs.
We need to remove all our rubbish when we leave.
The aim is to be back at Mount Batten between 14:00 – 15:00 on Sunday.

InactiveHi Clive,
Just to confirm, I intend to launch at Newton Ferrers, paddle down the Yealm and ambush you guys around Gara Point, and likewise on the return journey break off at this area and head back to Newton Ferrers.
Will aim to be at the RV 12.15’ish and will monitor Ch 10.
Anyone else want to join Clive’s trip from this location and join me more than welcome.
Tony

InactiveVery belatedly — thanks for planning and leading a great summer camp trip to Ayrmer Cove, Clive. Lots of fun and a pretty good workout, all in the kind of fine weather we’ve come to expect this year. Pretty good company too!
