ParticipantHi all,
I am running an intermediate sea kayak trip on Saturday 22 September. I know it’s too early to make any firm plans but I am away this week so this is an early heads up.
Assuming suitable weather conditions I hope to launch at Newton Ferrers at 10:30. For those needing such things the grid ref for our launch spot is SX 540479 and the postcode of the adjacent harbour masters office is PL8 1BN.
Club boats are available for this trip. To book a club boat please contact equipment officer Pete Anderson via equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or 07958 694434. Those needing club boats please collect them either on Tuesday evening or during the open boat session on Friday evening. (The open boat session gets on the water at 18:00 and will return approx 19:30 – 20:00.)
At Newton Ferrers there is on street parking and a carry down a steep set of steps to the pontoon / beach area.
If I can get access to the internet I will post again on Thursday to confirm arrangements, otherwise I will post again on Friday evening.

ParticipantWell boys and girls,
The forecast is none too bright with Saturday being sandwiched between 2 days with high wind warnings. I think we will err on the side of caution and paddle from Mount Batten. Ready to be on the water at 10:00.
We will do something but if the weather is awful we may not stay out for very long.
Sorry to be a bit vague.

InactiveHi All,
Tomorrow’s paddle with Clive is unfortunately cancelled, the weather has played havoc with his travel plans and at the moment he can only say he hopes to be back in Plymouth at sometime over the weekend!
Anyone up for a peer paddle?

ParticipantHi Tony,
A gentle peer paddle in the rain sounds good to me.
See you there!

ParticipantHi all,
My thanks to Tony for letting you know that I was unable to run this trip. It wasn’t the weather that stopped us from getting home but a technical problem with the aircraft that was supposed to bring us winging back to Exeter.
In the end we were flown to Southampton and then taken to Exeter by taxi. We eventually got home at 20:00 last night, (Saturday) some 28 hours after our expected arrival time.
Happy holidays.
I’m glad that some of you managed to get out to play. I’m jealous.
