ParticipantHi all,
I’m running my last intermediate sea kayak trip of the summer this Saturday, 10 September. The plan is meet at the car park at Blackpool Sands at 10:00, launch at Blackpool at 10:30. For those of you that need such things the postcode may be TQ6 0RG and the grid ref may be SX854478. (After recent experience I am reluctant to commit myself too much)!
The aim is to rock hop / explore caves etc to Compass Cove, then have lunch and paddle on to the Mew Stone and return to Blackpool Sands. If you need club equipment please book this via equipment officer Pete Anderson, equipment@ppca-canoe-club.org.uk or 07958 694434. Also please let me know that you are coming because I won’t be going to Mount Batten unless I have to. If you are using club kit please be ready to leave Mount Batten at 09:00.
See Brim’s separate post, this may be the only club trip this weekend.

InactiveI’m in – quite probably “in” the water too so may need rescuing a bit (advance warning/permission request). Have missed the cut-and-thrust of lively wit and repartie that accompanies Clive wherever he goes.

ParticipantI hope that everyone who goes on the intermediate paddle have a great time….
I need to get into Plymouth on Sat pm so I shall not be paddling on this trip.
It is possible you might see me down at Mountbatten as I shall be launching my boat early in the morning from Mountbatten and heading to Cawsand to meet up with Dave and Emu

ParticipantRick
I’m coming along for a nice end of summer paddle full of lively wit and repartee. I will be dressed accordingly. You on the other hand can get as wet as you like but I reserve the right to ignore your antics if / when I get bored. (I have a low threshold of boredom). I suggest you assess the mood of your fellow paddlers before embarking on what may turn out to be a lonely swim and please make sure that you don’t become the boy that cried wolf.
Saturday. Should be good.

ParticipantThanks Rik
I have had no contact from anyone wishing to use club kit so I will go direct to Blackpool Sands. Looks like a small and select group.

ParticipantHi Clive, sorry for the late reply. Paul and I were going to paddle with you but, as luck would have it, our car has broken down. A real drama for the AA to get the car out of our garage today, poor bloke was exhausted! Anyway, the car is out of action for an unspecified length of time. :'(
Have a great paddle 🙂September 10, 2016 at 5:49 pm #6088Anonymous
InactiveThanks for a cracking paddle, Clive — some prime rock-hopping and a wonderful arch/tunnel, good challenging conditions as expected (not least the surf launching and landing….). Thanks too to Rick for great company, good yarns and excellent advice.

ParticipantTotally agree with Bob, and with 2 such expert paddlers around I felt quite safe.
’twill soon be October, I can hear the fresh water calling.
