    Hi all,

I’m down to lead the river trip this Sunday, 2 January.

It’s been raining, there are 3 months of the river season left and none of those months are December. These 3 facts that make Clive very happy.

The rain means that we should be able to run an intermediate trip this Sunday. Yippee!!! That means either the Loop or, if we are lucky, the Walkham. I will post again on Saturday but whatever we do we will meet somewhere ready to leave at 08:00. How very exciting.

    Happy New Year to all.

I ran the Walkham today, it was a nice friendly level but dropping. There is a little bit of rain forecast overnight but will it be enough for the Walkham to run again tomorrow? Who knows, so this is my plan.

We will expect to run the Loop. Meet at Plympton ready to leave at 08:00. If you are going directly to the river meet at the layby adjacent to Holne Weir at 08:30.

    But……

I will check the levels in the morning and if the Walkham has enough water I will change my plan to run the Walkham. In any event we will still meet at Plympton, ready to leave at 08:00.

If you are intending to meet at Holne, can you let me have your mobile number, I will then text you final confirmation in the morning.

If you are intending to come along can you let me know please so that I can have an idea of numbers.

    See you tomorrow.

Well, this is a bit pleasant, the Walkham was 0.44 at 4am and slowly rising and the rain gauge at Postbridge is showing a bit of rain. We will go for the Walkham. Yipee!
