    Hi all,

Ken is away sunning himself in warmer climes so I am running the intermediate river trip this Sunday, 3rd January.

With sightings of Great White sharks at New Bridge and Orca playing in the waves at Triple Drop it is very unlikely that the water levels will be too low to run this trip, but…..

…There is quite a bit more rain forecast over the coming days. If current predictions are correct we may well find that river levels are too high on Sunday for us to paddle anywhere that comes within the remit of an intermediate paddle. I will keep an eye on the forecast and post my decision here on Saturday evening.

Assuming this trip does go ahead we will leave B&Q at 09:00.

As usual I would appreciate an idea of numbers, so if you think you will be joining us please either post here or contact me direct on 01752 344425 or cliveandjoy01@gmail.com

    Happy New Year in anticipation,

    Clive A.

p.s. I lied about the Great White sharks and Orcas.

Hi Clive. If it’s on I too would like to come, and possibly my daughter Ellie, if she can prize herself out of bed in time.

Happy New Year one and all, I hope you had a good one.

You will be aware that it has been more than a bit damp over the last couple of days. On top of this there is more rain forecast overnight tonight, the timing of which couldn’t be worse with 8.5 mm due around 06:00.

The Dart is already too high for a club trip on the Loop, so we won’t be going there tomorrow. At the moment my thoughts are the Walkham, the Plym from Distworthy to Cadover, (A walk in of approx 1 mile), or abandoning the trip altogether. It really depends on what actually falls tonight. I appreciate that this doesn’t help much but I am going to make a decision in the morning and will post here again by 08:00.

If I do decide to paddle we will meet at B&Q ready to leave by 09:00 as usual.

This trip won’t be suitable for those of you that haven’t been on an intermediate trip before.

    Sorry to be vague.

    Clive A.

If anyone is interested there is a guide here http://www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk/rivers/england/south-west/river-plym-gr-583662-to-cadover-bridge for the Ditsworthy to Cadover Bridge section of the Plym

    Hi all

I did wonder if I had made the right decision in cancelling today’s trip but looking at the graph of the river Walkham levels I think I mays have been right!

p.s. I am extremely impressed that I managed to get this image onto the message board, not bad for a technology challenged old git is it?
