    Hi all,

An early heads up that I am running an evening paddle on Thursday 23 May to co-inside with the full moon. (Flower Moon don’t you know?) The moon doesn’t rise until 21:45 so this will be a late paddle.

This trip will be restricted to either sea kayak or general-purpose kayak.

It’s too early to make a plan yet so details will appear nearer the date but we won’t be launching from Mount Batten.

    Hi all,

It the moment the forecast for Thursday is damp and overcast, but that can change. I will post again on Wednesday to confirm this is going ahead. (I see no point in going on a moonlit paddle if the sky is covered in thick cloud.)

The plan is to launch from Richmond Walk (I believe this is also known as Commando Beach) at 20:30. We will paddle around to somewhere near Cawsand, stop for coffee then paddle back once the moon has risen.

What 3 Words gives the location of Richmond Walk as chins.bags.recent

The full moon occurs at 14:53 and it rises at 21:45.

You will need your normal paddling kit plus a white light.

If you intend using a club boat please book it via the equipment officer and pick it up on Tuesday evening. You will need to return it on Friday evening.

It would be nice to know who’s coming.
