Well boys and girls, it’s my privilege to be running the final river trip of the season on Sunday 12 March. I can’t pretend that it has been a particularly exciting river season but at least March was good!

As this is to be the last trip of the season we will go somewhere, even if it means pushing our boats down the Loop, but there is a little rain in the forecast so I’m hopeful that we will be able to have a meaningful trip.

Ken has very kindly said that if levels permit he will look after our loopers, thus allowing me to take our big boys and girls somewhere a bit more interesting. (I have to say that for a grumpy old git Ken isn’t a bad chap.) If I do lead something more interesting this would have to be a peer paddle.

So, as usual I’m not making a real plan until Saturday evening at which time I will post again, but in the meantime can I ask that you give an indication if you are intending to come along please? And if so which trip you think you would like to attend.

Whatever we do we will be ready to leave the car park formally known as Plympton B&Q at 09:00, which for Steve’s benefit is when the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 9.

I can hardly contain my excitement.

I’m not feeling 100% but want to come. I will probably do the peer paddle if I make it. Cheers Kitts.

Well boys and girls, the river levels are just about holding up but probably not enough to run the Upper Dart, so the only trip that is on tomorrow will be the Loop. My apologies to all you peer paddle hopefuls.

As the level is likely to be on the low side this trip will be open to all.

See you at B&Q ready to leave at 09:00 or 09:30 at the lay by adjacent to Holne Weir.
