InactiveWe have received this email from Matt Searl of Plymouth Triathlon Club, asking for kayak safety cover for the triathlon swim on Sunday 15 July. This is something we’ve supported many times before. Skill level should be equivalent to 2-star or above (not needed to have passed the qualification). If you can help, please let Brim or me know, so we can coordinate a response.
Hi Ian, Bob,
Jenny has passed on your details to me, from which hopefully she has mentioned to you about some members assisting our club again for water safety cover on Sunday 15th July.
(Apologies for the short notice!)We have quite a small field entered this year so we don’t envisage it being so long.
Could you pass out to your club members to see if there would be any support, anticipated time would be from 07.30 – 09.30 (approx) all based around Western slipway as normal.
Each person will receive a £5.00 voucher to spend in the Mount Batten Centre.Hope you can help,
Best regards,
Matt Searl

InactiveReminder — it looks like there are no takers for safety cover on the Plymouth Triathlon yet. Anyone interested? This is an event we have supported for some years, pity if we can’t do it again this year.
It’s the weekend of the sea-kayak camping trip, but are there no other paddlers who could take up the challenge? If yes, please let me know ASAP, here or 07939 261210 or bobgrose@springrose.co.uk
Thanks
Bob

InactiveBirget has successfully persuaded me that I could do this on Sunday with her and that the early start was noble and worthwhile and it would make me feel good about myself 🙄 So that’s 2 so far….

InactiveThat’s fantastic news, Helga — many thanks to you and Birgit.
A few more details: approx. timings are 07.30 – 09.30. I’m assuming that means on the water, so I suggest you be ready to launch 07.15. I’ll get confirmation on that.
Matt Searle, the Organiser, says each kayaker will receive a £5 voucher to spend at the Mount Batten Centre. Couple of cups of coffee?
Stephen, you said you may be interested, depending on how your camping plans evolve. I hope these details mean that you can make the Tri!
A final plea for a few others to make up the numbers. Please help support this (very) local event.

Matt Searl has passed on his contact details in case you need to speak to him in advance, and asks that you be ready for a safety briefing for marshals at 7.00, with a race start at 7.30. He anticipates a finish on the water at least by 8.45.
