The PPCA has local coach Rick Cooper provisionally booked to offer training and possible assessment for the British Canoeing Coast Sea Kayak Award. This award is the next step up from the Sea Kayak Award which 6 of our members achieved with Rick earlier this summer. The syllabus for the award can be found here on the BC Awarding Body Website. The dates set aside are Saturday and Sunday, 2nd and 3rd of September.

This training is appropriate for anybody at Sea Kayak Award level (similar to old 3* level). Even if you did not wish to be assessed, I can guarantee that you will learn loads and come away a better paddler for it. You will also have lots of fun in the process.

This is open to all club members either as new stuff or a refresher. The cost will depend on the numbers but be in the order of £70 to £100 for the weekend, which is exceptional value. Bookings will be on a first come first served basis so don’t delay. We do need a minimum number of candidates to run this course. Therefore, if you are interested or have any questions, please get in touch as soon as possible.
