ParticipantHi all,
I have the pleasure of running this Sunday’s beginners river trip, please meet at B&Q ready to leave at 09:00 as usual.
I’m not quite sure where to go yet, if it rains we will paddle the Walkham, if not the good old Lower Dart will be our watery destination. I will post early on Saturday evening to confirm.
As usual please post here if you are intending to come along.
See you on Sunday,
Clive A

ParticipantOh you lucky, lovely people, there has been change of plan.
Ken has very kindly offered to run an intermediate trip on the Loop on Sunday. I am assuming that most of our likely paddlers will take Ken up on this offer so I now intend to run the beginners trip on the Baby Dart, which is the section from Buckfast to Staverton. An ideal stretch of water for a fairly small group and for people keen on seeing kingfishers.
Both trips will meet at B&Q ready to leave at 09:00 on Sunday, so please make sure you get into the right group for you.
As my dear (not to be confused with expensive) wife is now keen on open boating I would like to invite any of our open boaters to join this trip. I can only provide safety cover for open boats so club boats are not available on this trip.
If you are intending to join the beginners trip can I ask that you put your name here, call me on 01752 344425 or e-mail cliveandjoy01@gmail.com please. If you intend joining Ken’s intermediate trip please see Ken’s separate post on this forum.
It’s all terribly exciting isn’t it?

KeymasterHi Clive,
I am pondering on taking my canoe down here also but it looks as though we’ve had no rain and not going to get any. It looks like the river willonly drop more. Do you think there will be enough water without taking most of the plastic off my boat?
cheers

ParticipantAndy
The lower lower Dart needs significantly less water than the other sections to make it worthwhile, so todays levels should be good.
There will of course be rocks and I can’t legislate for you paddling skills.
Hopefully see you tomorrow
