Well that was jolly good fun wasn’t it? 20 paddlers on the first trip of the season with the river at a decent level. Nearly a perfect day I would say.

My thanks to all of you for coming along determined to enjoy yourselves and for putting up with my somewhat dubious style of leadership. Special thanks to the 4 of you who provided 1:1 coaching with our novice paddlers, you kept them safe as you instilled new skills, not an easy task and I am very grateful.

Fish of the day award goes to Karen and her finger nails, Emu gets a special mention for his rather unique attempt at rolling, (very definitely not text book), and just when we thought that the day had passed without any logistical stories Felix and his rucksack travelled back along the A38 in a separate cars that weren’t going to the same place. As I said, nearly a perfect day.

    Looking forward to next time.

Big thanks Clive. It was a great day and I can’t wait for next week. I have Dave’s paddle and he has mine 😆 don’t know how that happened! I think we were distracted by Jane’s excellent flapjack. By the way regarding my entertainment haven’t you heard of rock n roll?

I have heard of rock and roll but yesterday I only saw evidence of hard rock.

A big thank you from my side as well.
It’s been a great first trip on the river, cheers to all who looked out for us, looking forward to the next time.

P.S. I was reunited with my backpack soon after realizing it was traveling around Plymouth without me 😀

    Thanks,
    Felix
