    Hi all,

I have the pleasure of running the Saturday paddle this Saturday, 23 June. I have been reliably informed that Mount Batten is expecting this to be their busiest day of the year so I am planning not to go there.

The weather forecast is good, the surf forecast is for no surf and the tide is perfect for an exploration of Berry Head. (Torbay.) Anyone want to guess where we are paddling?

Meet at the Breakwater car park in Brixham at 09:30 with a view to being on the water at 10:00. (For those that need such things the postcode of the adjacent Torbay Lifeboat station is TQ5 9AF.) You have a choice of paying for 5 hours (£5.50) or all day (£10). I have made the mistake of paying for 5 hours before and have ended up under pressure to get back in time, I suggest you bite the bullet and shell out £10. We can always have a leisurely ice cream at the end.

There are caves, a headtorch and a helmet may be useful.

For anyone wishing to use club boats I can arrange to be at Mountbatten at 20:00 on Friday, but you will need to let me know.

I will post again on Thursday evening to confirm. If the weather forecast changes I do have an alternative plan A.

    See you on Saturday.

    I forgot to mention:

I know that awaydays are not always very popular so in order to save me from being Billy No Mates in Brixham can I ask that you let me know if you are coming please? Thanks.

I hope to be there if I can wake up on time. I could carry another kayak and body if anyone wants to share the car park cost. Will be heading out from Wembury Point at the crack of dawn it seems so best if anyone wanting to share is on a more or less dirct line between Wembury Pt and Brixham.

The forecast is still good so Bruce and myself will paddle from Brixham as outlined above. Anyone else wanting to join us will be most welcome.

I probably won’t have access to the internet now so if you want to use club kit please text / ring my mobile.

A cracking location to paddle on a flat calm day, but unfortunately I need to be in Plymouth later in the afternoon so will do something shorter nearby. Maybe an Orca hunt?

Enjoy the wildlife and the big cave.

    Terry
