KeymasterHi All
I’ll be running the river trip this Sunday the 21st jan.
Weather is looking great for Sunday. River levels looking fine and more rain due with temperature rising on Sunday.
We will run the Loop. Meet at Holne weir Lay-by at 9.30 as i would like to get 2 runs in.
If for some reason your unable to meet there, please text me on 07973285969.I’m sure one of the other coaches maybe running another trip too ๐
P.s
Could someone please copy and paste this page to the PPCA forum under club trips as I’ve changed my email and my account has been deactivated!!January 17, 2018 at 10:13 pm #6950Colin Wilding

ParticipantI’m planning to be there on Sunday – Kimberly was hoping to get back on the river but is suffering from post California flu :-} and probably won’t make it.
I’d be happy to meet at Plympton and reduce the number of cars going.

ParticipantI am planning on going and will go to Plympton car park to assist in the car share.
Louis and his wonderful fiancee are cooking Sunday lunch for my wife and I, so I can’t take liberties with being too late.
Will probably do the one run but am happy to review on the day to see how long we take with the first one.

ModeratorI have contacted Chris who has agreed that we meet at the Plympton Car Park which is probably the best idea if anybody is keen for the upper with Doug and we can then split into the separate groups car shuttles there. Chris is also looking to do a second trip if time prevails and I think those of us who will only be doing the one could then shuttle the second trippers up to the top if required. Meet as usual at the Plympton Car Park (Long Stay) ready to leave at 0900 hrs. I will need somebody to car share with me as I am picking Bradley up in Ivybridge please. Those of you nearer the Dart see you in the layby at 0930 hrs as planned.
Ken
PS I dont remember the other 20 trips with you Chris? ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐January 20, 2018 at 12:05 pm #6957Doug Sitch
ParticipantI think I might switch to the Loop for a more relaxed paddle, given the river levels…..
Will decide tomorrow….

ParticipantI am coming too but most likely won’t car share as I have to be home by 10 to 3 for work. I will most likely go straight to the layby in the morning and would be grateful if my car could be kept down the bottom for the dry kit if possible. Sorry for not being a team player this week.

ParticipantChris has asked if you can check here or on the PPCA Facebook page in case anything changes due to levels.

ParticipantI’m going to drop out this morning since I woke up with something of the bug that’s been going around. My reading of the predictive graphs says that the loop should be at about 2M by the time we’d get on the water and (proving that I occasionally have some sense), I don’t think that’s something for me to try when I’m less than 100%
If Kimberly is around, we might drive by to take a look at the various put-ins and take outs just to see what it looks like if the “massive” predictions are right.

ParticipantHey Kevin,
I don’t know where you got your predictions from but, it will not be 2m anywhere today.
Austen’s bridge might be 0.85 by the time we get there.
There was 4mm of rain on the moors – not much.
It will be fluffy with plenty of water today, but not massive.
Take care, DougJanuary 21, 2018 at 8:42 am #6962Kevin Jones
ParticipantI was looking at the isthedartrunning graph – which I now understand is not to be taken too seriously :-). Still probably better that I don’t paddle sick though.
Yet another thing to learn – whose predictions are trustworthy :ugeek:

ParticipantIt was a lovely level today. Enough water to cover most the rocks but not too much so it was washed out with nothing to play on. Thanks everyone for another great day, especially Chris and Doug for leading and Ken for his usual guidance.
