PPCA is a friendly club in a fantastic location. We welcome everyone and our pricing policy is designed to help families and younger members into canoeing.

We offer three main types of membership.  For full membership, you must have already have the BCU 1-star award or higher.  If you don't, then fear not, because we offer two types of training memberships: introductory membership provides a set of courses for adults and children over 12 years old; Rainbow membership offers a package for 9 to 11 year olds.  For more details visit the links on the right.

Canoeing in the UK encompasses paddling of both kayaks and canoes. The kayaks we use are related to those used by Eskimo hunters and are paddled sitting in the bottom of the closed-in craft using a two-bladed paddle. Canoes are open craft related to that used by American Indians that are paddled kneeling or sitting using a single-ended blade on one side only. The PPCA is able to provide both types of paddling, although the majority of our activities use kayaks.

Whatever your age or motivation, canoeing can offer you something. Whether you paddle for enjoyment of the coastlines, to learn new skills, to share good company, to improve fitness, to get outdoors or to get an adrenaline rush in white-water and surf - canoeing is for you!
