Sea kayaking

Sea Kayaking is a traditional part the club's activities. The proximity of Plymouth to the sea and the wonderful coastline on offer in the South West provide a great attraction.

The PPCA has a number of sea kayaks which are available to club members to paddle on trips. Sea kayak trips are organised within the club membership almost every weekend. There is a strong group of club members who specialise in sea kayaking and paddle regularly.

Club members have paddled kayaks along the coastlines of the UK, especially Scotland, the Scillies and even Alaska in their explorations of the enjoyment of sea kayaking. It was PPCA members, Andy Stamp and Nigel Hingston who completed the record-breaking solo crossing (in a double sea kayak) of the English Channel from Start Point to Guernsey.
